Privacy Policy

Real Side Hustles ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Robert Lyon. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built the app to collect as little as possible and we do not sell your data or track you across other apps or websites.

Information we collect

• Account. When you open the app, we automatically create an anonymous account so your progress can be saved and backed up. No name, email, or password is required. If you choose to add an email later to sync across devices, we store that email.
• Your inputs. Quiz answers (your goals, time, and budget), the hustle you select, task progress and checklists, notes you write, earnings you choose to log, and journal entries. You enter this content yourself.
• AI coach messages. When you use the AI coach, the messages you send are transmitted to our AI provider to generate a reply (see "Service providers" below).
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple — we never see or store your payment card details.
• Notifications. If you enable reminders, we store a device push token so we can send them. You can turn this off anytime in iOS Settings.
• Advertising. The app may show occasional ads from our own ad network (Zen Advertise). These ads are contextual — they do not use your advertising identifier (IDFA), do not track you across apps, and do not build an advertising profile of you. Standard technical request data (such as your IP address) is processed only to deliver the ad.

What we do NOT collect: no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no location tracking, no contacts, no cross-app or cross-site tracking. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you.

How we use your information

• To match you to a side hustle and generate your personalized roadmap.
• To save and back up your progress, notes, earnings, and journal.
• To provide AI coaching responses.
• To deliver reminders you opt into and unlock premium features you purchase.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the app.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the app:

• Apple — App Store purchases, subscriptions, and push notifications.
• Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting for your account and saved content.
• OpenAI — processes AI coach messages to generate replies. Messages are sent for that purpose only.
• Zen Advertise — serves the contextual ads described above.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes. We do not sell personal information.

Data storage and security

Your content is stored in our Supabase database with row-level security so each account can only access its own data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data until you delete it. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. You may also email us to request deletion.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

You can access your data in the app, correct it by editing your entries, and delete it at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
